WHAT WE DO

At the Swiss Attention Center we offer different services, but they are all about ATTENTION. We don’t handle other themes, unless ATTENTION is somehow a major factor involved. With that in mind, here’s what we do most…

Inform and advise

We provide advise to anyone without any obligation. We sometimes provide lectures or classes about attention problems, support parents, teachers and other professionals.

Diagnostics

Our psychologists are focused specifically on attention problem, including ADHD and giftedness. Of course, a good diagnosis also takes a look at relationships, emotions, and communication. All of this needs solid and differential diagnoses, which we strive to provide.

Follow-up care

A diagnosis needs to be followed by a best course of action: it’s always a combination of things like psycho-education, routines, a medication trial, parental/partner support, …

Medication

When treatment a medication trial is indicated, we assist your doctor/pediatrician to avoid potential physical effects while trying to maximize the gain from the positive effects on mental health.

Good to know

As psychologists, we are NOT authorised to prescribe medication. It’s always the doctor or paediatrician who decides whether or not to issue a prescription. In the case of ADHD management, pharmacological treatment (especially during a trial) must be assessed not only on the basis of the absence of side effects (often physical, if any), but equally on the basis of the primary effects sought (mostly mental health). We aim to highlight the nuances of these effects so that the doctor/paediatrician can better decide on any dosage adjustments of the prescriptions he/she issues.
